As the first Specialist School for the Performing Arts on Merseyside we have built a reputation for innovation and excellence over our first phase. However, our vision remains the same.
In order to make this possible we have created an Arts College ethos through: -
* Improved facilities and resources. We have purpose built Dance, Drama and Recording Studios, School Theatre, two Music Suites, seven practice rooms, and an ICT Suite of computers and midi keyboards with state of the art equipment.

* Whole School curriculum developments involving new examination courses, vocational courses and opportunities to experience working professionally within the Arts.
* However, the Arts College is not only about the Performing Arts. We are developing good practice Teaching & Learning strategies across the School.
* These include developing strategies for structured talk.
* Working in partnership with creative practitioners through Creative Partnerships.
* Integrating our curriculum thus enabling us to enter the entire Year 9 cohort for Expressive Arts GCSE two years early.
* Taking the whole of Year 8 to Anglesey each year, where staff and students have the opportunity to experiment with cross-curricular approaches to Teaching & Learning.
"Our belief is that the Performing Arts, as well as being art forms in their own right, are also central to peoples' personal, social, moral and spiritual development. By gaining confidence, learning how to work with other people and communicate effectively, we believe that those who pass through our doors can become active citizens who will be aware of the society in which they live and be in a position to make a positive impact on it."
"When individuals find their creative strengths, it can have an enormous impact on self-esteem and overall achievement"
